Dai and Isabellala drive their Moonbuggies across the lunar surface
to a clearing about a mile form Moonbase Alpha. They carry with them
equipment to take readings of a spatial anomaly that the moon is
currently passing.

They arrive safely and start
setting up the equipment when Paul Morrow contacts them to advise to
get to cover as their is a meteor shower about to hit their location
in 5 minutes. Isabellala thinks she can get the scans done and
rushes. The scans are complete but both Dai and Isabellala are
injured form the meteorites. The manage top scramble under their
moonbuggies for cover, then eventually returning to Moonbase Alpha.
On
their return Commander Koenig is not happy.
Commander Koenig "When given an order you obey. We cannot
sacrifice any lives, everyone is important. Equipment can be
replaced, you cannot."
Koenig dismisses both and orders them to take 24 hours R&R.
Dai just relaxes while Isabella has a visit from Professor Bergman
who has found more fermenting jugs for Isabellas home brewing.

It's 5:30am and Isabel is
woken by someone banging on her door.
Slowly
Isabella gets out of bed and answers the door. Professor Elsa
Mycroft, a ditzy eccentric lady, barges into the room.
Prof. Mycroft "Oh, glad I didn't wake you. Did you do those scans
of the anomaly yesterday? Yes, of course you did. Oh it's wonderful
isn't it?!"
Isabella "What is?"
Prof. Mycroft "Come to the lab, I'll show you..." Professor
Mycroft grabs Isabella by the arm and starts to drag her to the
door.
Isabella "Wait!"
Prof. Mycroft "Whatever for?"
Isabella "I'd like to put my uniform on."
Prof. Mycroft "Oh yes, silly me, do hurry."
At the lab Isabella instantly notices the board with all sorts of
calculations about gravity and thrust.
Prof. Mycroft "Can you see it. We can go home. To Earth!"
Isabella "You want to go back to Earth?"
Prof. Mycroft "We can use the anomaly to slingshot an Eagle, and
with a little extra thrust... back to Earth!"
Isabella looks over the calculations.
Isabella "This doesn't look right, but we'd need Moonbase
Computer to finalise the calculations."
Prof. Mycroft "I'll go see Mr. Kano right away." With that
she all but runs from the lab.
Davis Kano, not wanting a long discussion with Else gives her the
computing power she needs, and on the way back she passes Dai in the
corridor on his way to work in the hanger bays. Elsa grabs him by
the arm, "we'll need you too, you'll need to pilot!"
Dai "What? Where are we going?"
Prof. Mycroft "Home. Earth."
In the lab Isabella and Prof. Mycroft go over the calculations with
Moonbase Computer able to correct the thrust calculation.
Dai "That's faster than an Eagles top speed."
Prof. Mycroft "We've fitted them with extra thrusters before."
Dai nods.
Prof. Mycroft "So we need to get started."
Isabella brings things back to reality. The Commander would need to
give authorisation, and he's just given them a lecture about how
people are needed. Not to mention he doesn't get on with Professor
Mycroft, and the Moon will only be in range of the anomaly for five
days.
Professor Mycroft asks if Dai and Isabella will bring this to the
Commander.
In Main Mission Isabella approaches Commander Koenig and tells him
about the plan.

Commander Koenig "No! I made it quite clear no one should
be working on this."
When told it was Professor Mycroft he didn't seem surprised and
wanted a meeting with all concerned in 20 minutes time in his
office. He orders all Main Mission personnel to keep this quiet.
The meeting starts badly, Koenig again emphasises how important
everyone is on Moonbase Alpha. Then Isabella offers another
suggestion. Instead of sending people, just a message to Earth. If
Professor Bergman is right about the time dilation and over a
hundred years having passed on Earth, they may have the technology
to bring them home.
Elsa is a bit upset, she stresses how much people miss their home,
but concedes that just sending a message would be an option.
Isabella also suggests that removing life support form the Eagle
they send would reduce the thrust needed and stop any plans of
someone sneaking aboard.
Commander Koenig agrees to this plan.
Isabella is to work with Professor Mycroft in finalising the
calculations.
Dai is to oversee the outfitting of the Eagle.
Tac is to speak with the crew of Moonbase Alpha and collect any
messages they may want to send home.
Joe is to monitor security and personnel as tensions may rise with
the thought of a way back to Earth.

There is a buzz of excitement
around Moonbase Alpha. While no one would actually be travelling in
the Eagle back to Earth just the thought of passing on messages to
loved ones was giving a moment of satisfaction to all Alphans.
Tac was continuing his efforts to collect the messages to loved
ones.
In the Eagle Land Bay Dai was leading the team re-fitting an Eagle
for it's flight to Earth, this would involve stripping it of weight
and life support, and fitting additional thrusters. Fellow pilot
Marcus approaches Dai and ask him to delay stripping out the life
support.

Marcus "There are a few of us that feel it is not right that the
Commander gets to rule on this. We're taking a petition for the
option to be on the Eagle put to a vote." Dai is wary, and says
that although he doesn't know the calculations, he's sure that there
any additional weight cannot be accounted for. Marcus is
disappointed and says he will take it up with Commander Koenig.
Isabel continues to work with Professor Elsa Mycroft on the
calculations required to slingshot the Eagle around the gravity
anomaly.
Joseph is called to investigate a break-in at the food store, the
door controls were over-ridden. A woman was seen running from the
scene, but nothing was taken.
Tac is down in Nuclear Control collecting messages. Sarah airs some
concerns, much like Marcus, that the Commander should left people
have a vote on leaving for Earth. Out the corner of his eye he can
see that Hiroshi is trying to give Sarah a signal to shut up. Tac
says nothing but reports his finding to Paul Morrow and Commander
Koenig.
A
short time later there is another reported crime, Joseph attends.
Doctor Russell reports some missing
Commander Koenig call his senior staff together including Paul
Morrow, Dai and Tac.
The commander says he is not changing his mind on allowing Alphans
to be on the Eagle. He asks Tac to increase security measures and
those who have made suggestion of rebellion have been confined to
quarters until the Eagle launches.
The night before the launch is a celebration. People are drinking,
dancing and singing in the recreation rooms, discussing where is the
best place to get a view of the Eagle's launch. Tac gets chatting
with Alice, a nurse who works with Doctor Russell. Tac feels his
drink tastes funny, feeling it has been spiked. Alice says she can
test for it in the Medical lab, Tac goes with her. Only Dr. Mathias
is on duty.
Tac does see Marcus sneak in behind him, "Okay, I don't want to do
this, we just want to be heard." Tac realises Alice must also be in
on the plot, turning around Marcus is holding a Stun Gun. Tac
manages to hurl a char at Marcus, who does shoot but misses. Marcus
is defeated and Dr. Mathias come sot assist. Security arrive and
confine Alice and Marcus to quarters, Marcus was already meant to be
under observation but had slipped by security with the help of the
journalist Lucas, the last of their rebellious party. With his
allies now under guard Lucas would lay low and take no further
action.
On the day of the launch Dai does not turn up for duty, it turns out
he had failed to spot his drink being spiked by Alice the night
before. He awakes with the effect of a hangover to find Tac, Joseph
and Doctor Russell standing over his bed. Doctor Russel; ask if Alan
Cart should pilot the Eagle instead, this spurs Dai to shake off his
hangover and ready himself for the day
The Alphans crowd the windows of Moonbase to watch the launch of the
Eagle piloted on Remote by Dai. He successfully manoeuvres the Eagle
but is slightly off on his approach to the anomaly, but is able to
correct it before turning the Eagle into the slingshot and
activating the thrusters. In less that two minutes the Eagle is
beyond the sensors of Moonbase Alpha with rapturous applause from
the Alphan crew.
