Commander Kat'ya's Log: We
are travelling to the world of Tehaen which has recently ceded to
the Klingon Empire to provide support in facilitating government
change.
Scene
1. Encounter: Inhabited planet
Hostages to malicious force
We Arrive at the planet Tehaen, a former Orion Slave World liberated
by the glorious Klingon Empire.
I lead the Away Team with Toran and T'rant.
We meet with the new Klingon Governor Kem'pah, and Kir, a Caitian
former slave.
We are told about an Orion Slave ship that tried to flee but crashed
in the asteroid belt.
Does Kem'pah want us to investigate? Probable - Yes
Scene
2. The Away Team returns to the IKS Klothos and we set course for
the asteroid belt.
Subspace event: parasitic organism.
Scan for the Orion ship - Ship Sensors + Science - Fail.
Is it cloaked? Highly improbable - No
K'Klaa "It appears our Orion friends are not as disabled
as they would have us think."
Do the Orion's attack? 50/50 YES!

Klothos weapon 09 / Security 05
Hull: 4 3 1 0 Engine damage
Orion weapon 09 / Security 03
Hull: 4 3 1 0 hull breach -3 (defeated)
The Orion Blackguard warship emerges from behind a larger asteroid
catching us off guard causing minor damage!

I take tactical and return fire with Phasers. We trade hits, then
they get lucky and hits our Impulse engines!
I am able to retaliate with a volley of Photon Torpedoes causing
Critical damage to the Orion ship. The Orion ship is able to limp
away, we care unable to pursue due to the damage sustained.
Scene
3. Commander Kat'ya's Log:
We have sustained damage from our encounter with the Orion vessel
that will take some time to repair.
Single repair success - so
repair time is slow.
Do we notice the parasitic organism? Yes.
I alert the Captain, the creatures must have come from the asteroid.
Carbon-based
Monera
Microscopic
Commander Kat'ya's Log: We
have detected a microscopic organism attached to our hull, likely
from one of the asteroids. I work with Toran, the science officer,
to find a way to remove the organism before it damages the ship
further.
Reason + Science = Success with Momentum!
We able to create an energy pulse to remove the organisms.
Scene
4. Commander Kat'ya's Log:
The IKS Klothos returns to the planet Tehaen and I once more beam
down to assist Governor Kem'pah.
The governor says some renegade slaves have taken exception to
Klingon rule and have taken hostages. They are held up in caves to
the west of the city.
The caves are dense, transport inside is not possible, and approach
across the open desert would be vulnerable. But we are Klingon, we
have sworn to protect these people and will do so with honour!
T'rant, our intelligence officer says there are but ten insurgents
holding 20 prisoners. Therefore I put together a team of five
Klingons including myself and Toran. A shuttle would alert them to
our assault, we will therefore wait until nightfall and make our way
across the desert at night.
Scene
5. The temperature drops cold at night but that does not bother
Klingon warriors.
Are there any predatory beats? Somewhat Prob - Yes.
I hear the beast before I see it, a hulking white furred creature
with a single giant horn. A Mugato!
Mugato (2nd ed. Core - P369)

I draw my Bat'leth and engage the creature in combat!
Round 1. I hit the Mugato
Round 2. I hit the Mugato but with Threat - it bites me, I'm
poisoned - 1 hit to me!
Round 3. I hit the Mugato with Momentum. The creature is defeated.
I take the creatures horn as a trophy to my victory!
Scene
6.
Commander Kat'ya's Log:
We enter the caves to free
the slaves. Our first obstacle is a wide pit. We have no option but
to jump the pit... we are all successful.
Scene
7.
Commander Kat'ya's Log:
The winding caves open op. There is a sheer drop with just a narrow
crumbling ledge. We all climb across without incident.

Scene
8.
Commander Kat'ya's Log:
The caves wind deeper into
the mountains. A bioluminescent plant claws around the walls. We are
cautious, rightfully so. I identify the vines to have poisonous
thorns. We avoid the vines and continue.
Scene
9. The cave opens into a large chamber. A dozen slaves are
seated on the floor in the middle of the cave, various races
including Andorian and Orion women.

Kat'ya (addressing the Orion) "Where are the slavers?"
Orion girl "They left us here. Threatened us not to move."
Kat'ta (addressing the Andorian) "You, stand. Is this
true? Do not fear, you are under my protection."
The Andorian girl pauses.
Kat'ya (addressing the Orion) "Do you think I do not know
Orion culture. You are no slave."
The Orion girl draws a knife and grabs the Andorian, holding the
blade to her throat.
Verbal Conflict- Success but with Threat!
Scene
10. Ten Orion thugs led by Ezanti, a the Captina of the Emerald
Fist, the cruiser we fought. They catch us off guard immediately
opening fire with phasers wounding one of our party. We return fire!

GM note: firefight giving the Orions 6 hits points as they double
our number, and we start with a hit due to the Threat. We win
combat, twoce generating momentum.
The Orion girl hisses and her troops are defeated.
Orion girl "Let's see you save her now!" With that she
disappears in a transport haze.
Scene
11. Kat'ya returns to the Klothos and implores to Captain K'Klaa
that they need to pursue the Orions to rescue the Andorian girl.
K'Klaa "The girl is Jeghpu'wI, there is no dishonour in
letting her go."
Kat'ya "I swore to the girl I would protect her. It is my
honor, and I will do as is necessary to retrieve her."
Kat'ya had is on her D’k Tahg Dagger.
Social conflict - Success but with Threat! (Need 2 Successes for a
hit in combat with the Orion girl)
K'Klaa "Be careful if you dare to challenge me. nuHlIj DawIvpu',
vaj yISuv. D’k Tahg only."
Kat'ya nods and places her phaser and Bat'leth before the Captain.
Scene
12. The IKS Klothos soon intercepts the already damages Orion
cruiser Emerald Fist.
The two warships exchange fire. A volley of Photon Torpedoes heavily
damages the Emerald Fist, but the make a successful return of fire,
the transporters of the Klothos are offline.
The Klothos manages to disable the engines and shield of the Emerald
Fist.
Scene
13. Commander Kat'ya's
Log: The battle has left the Klothos without transporters, I must
take a shuttle, alone to rescue the Andorian. I am not a pilot, but
I am a warrior and must complete the challenges my honour demands.

Kat'ya docks aboard the
Emerald Fist and fights her way to the bridge. An Orion guard gets
in a lucky hit, then another, disarming Kat'ya, but unarmed Kat'ya
defeats her opponent, retrieving her D’k Tahg.
Scene
14. Kat'ya reaches the Bridge with we Orion girl holding the
Andorian and pointing a Disruptor pistol. Kat'ya dodges forward,
knocks the pistol from the Orion girls hands and buries her D’k Tahg
into her chest (rolled Double 1 !!). Kat'y grabs the Andorian by the
wrist, spits "Qapla'!" at the Orion Captain and returns to
her shuttle.
As her shuttle departs Captain K'Klaa unleashes an other volley of
Photon Torpedoes, destroying the Orion ship!
Scene
15. Commander Kat'ya's
Log: I have rescued the Andorian girl, Ice. I still have my honour.

Ice "I owe you my
life."
Kat'ya "You are Jeghpu'wI, but you are free. You can help
rebuild Tehaen."
Ice "My home was destroyed in the fighting. Where shall I
go?"
Kat'ya "Can you cook?"
Ice "Yes."
Kat'ya "Then I will find you a position aboard the Klothos.
You can serve in the kitchens. The chef is a vile odorous man, you
won't like him, but he can cook. He will teach you how to prepare
gagh."
Ice "Oh... thank you."
