Fantastic Four have had a rough ride
throughout their history. Created back in the 60's
by Stan Lee as a response to DC's Justice League.
Marvel needed a team, and this was it.
Almost from the start they have been
a fan favourite, with my personal favourite artist John
Byrne evening drawing the comic. And they have
some great adversaries too including Doctor Doom, Silver
Surfer and the planet devouring Galactus!
Over the years the Fantastic four
have appeared in animated series, including the 1978 one
without the Human Torch (due to copyright reasons), to
several big budget movies, with varying degrees of
success. The last outing was not well received,
and the Roger Corman version never even released - you
can find it online.
More copyright issues led to the
Fantastic Four even disappearing from the pages of
Marvel comics until recently. And that return
means, yes, a return to Heroclix. And with the
Fantastic Four returning, Galactus is not far behind! |

Character selection 4

Overall 4
A nice mix of characters
and abilities. The set also spans low lost figures
to higher ones like God Emperor Doom. I'm marking
the character selection down by 1 purely for the lack of
She-Hulk.

She is sent to the 20th

a bout of one-on-one combat, believing him to be the
strongest male of all time. By beating the Thing in

First appearance: as Ulysses Klaw - Fantastic Four #53
(Aug 1966)
as Klaw - Fantastic Four #56 (Nov 1966)
Klaw was a physicist, working in the field of applied

converts sound waves into physical mass, Klaw steals the
metal vibranium to power his device. This is a metal
substance known to exist only in Wakanda. Klaw comes
into conflict with the Wakandan ruler/superhero T'Chaka
whom Klaw murders in cold blood. T'Chaka's adolescent
son T'Challa then attacks Klaw to avenge his father.
Klaw manages to escape at the cost of his right hand.
Years later, Klaw resurfaces with a sonic emitter/gun on
his right wrist as a replacement prosthetic device for
his missing hand that can create any kind of object or
creature he can conceive by only using sound.
Andy Serkis portrays Ulysses Klaue in the Marvel
Cinematic Universe.
