Wars, British and American army and naval structures, this was the
closest I could get.
The Warriors of Gar do not run an
Imperial Campaign, but these ranks are presented in the same
manner as the Rebel Alliance Ranks for those of you who do and
would like to take advantage of my ranking system.
It should be noted that as a rule Rebel
Officer of an equal rank to their Imperial counterpart will no
doubt have better skill. Rank is no not always earned within
the Empire. Trickery and blackmail are a way of life for
Imperial Officers leading to some officers not having the skill
that their position demands. It should also be noted that
field promotions are another way that rank can be gained with the
Empire. Captain Piett is granted the rank of Admiral after
Lord Vader executes Admiral Ozzel for his failings. Admiral
Ozzel himself is an example of an officer unfit for the position
he held. Lord Vader was in charge of the Executor Fleet, but
an admiral was needed to keep face with Imperial Military, so
Ozzel was appointed merely as 'window dressing'. The Emperor
knew that Ozzel was too weak to oppose any order Lord Vader would
give, and Ozzel was, as he proved, disposable.
