Clown Shoes
Holmes & Xara take some time to rest by visiting the The
Greatest Show in the Galaxy.
Episode One
1. The TARDIS hums with an
almost contentment. Holmes sits in his leather armchair
sipping tea.
Xara "Can't you smell that?"
Holmes "What is that my dear?"
Xara "There's something
in the TARDIS. I think it's a cat, possibly a Kitling."
Holmes "Oh I don't think so."
Xara "I'm sure I saw something
move in the Wardrobe Room. But that room is such a mess you
could get lost for a lifetime in there."
Holmes gets out of his chair
about to contradict Xara, only to see a black kitling washing itself
atop the TARDIS console.
Holmes "Well it appears
we do have an uninvited guest."
Xara "Seems friendly.
Can we keep it?"
Holmes "That is up to them."
Xara "Vortex."
Holmes "What about the
vortex?"
Xara "No, Vortex.
We can name him Vortex."
Holmes "We shall see.
Ah, we appear to have arrived."
2. Holmes and Xara exit
the TARDIS on the planet Nuwbit, a small world recently colonised
for entertainment. Alas, the TARDIS has not landed near it's
destination.
Homes and Xara head off along
the dusty road, they can see the town in the distance.
Xara "Why are we here again?"
Holmes "I've always
wanted to visit the Psychic Circus. Supposedly the Greatest
Show in the Galaxy."
Xara "Is it safe?"
Holmes "Well, there was
that incident with the gods of Ragnarock a while back, but that's
done an dusted. I hear they even have the stars of the
Interstellar Song Contest here nowadays."
Some small flies seem to be
buzzing around the pair, and one causes a slight scratch on Holmes
neck. The swarming gets worse.
 Holmes and Xara break into a
run and are eventually able to get clear of the bugs.
Holmes
"Nasty little things."
A hover car passes and Holmes
flags them down and asks for a lift. The Bollits, a Navarino
family travelled from a nearby star system, are more than happy to
give a lift. they too are on their way to the Psychic Circus.
3. Finally arriving at the
Psychic Circus Holmes and Xara are soon inside.
Ringmater "Now welcome folks,
I mean that from the heart, because the Greatest Show is about to
start. It's happening right here before your very eyes and one
thing's for sure, you're in for quite a surprise. But then,
nothing's quite as it seems to be at the Greatest Show in the
Galaxy."
The Ringmaster then introduces
the headline act, direct from the Intergalactic Song Contest...
Dugga Doo!
4. The show continues with
rapturous applause, although this wasn't quite the act Holmes was
expecting.
Suddenly there is a scream,
and one of the performers comes running from the back of the ring,
pursued by a malfunctioning Robot Clown with blood on it's hands!
The Clown strides directly
towards Holmes! Holmes tries to fend off the Clown but is
knocked unconscious!
5. The Robot Clown throws
Holmes over it's shouldber and retreats hastily from the arena,
Xara tries to pursue, but the panicking crowd block her path.
Xara can only watch as the
Robot Clown carrying Holmes disappears from view!
Episode TWO
6. Xara is now on her own.
She decides to confront the Ringmaster, but he is just as confused.
 Xara
"Have your clowns done this before."
Ringmaster "No, well, no
recently. But we're past that, the Clown robots should be
fine."
Xara uses her improved senses,
and she believes she can track Holmes.
Mo Bollit (one of the Navarinos)
"I say miss, I would like to help if I can. You friend seemed
like a stand up fella."
Xara and Mo Bollit tracks
Holmes through the dusty streets into the back room of a barber
shop.

8. Back at the TARDIS
Holmes calls V5 and successfully convinces him to help.
9. Back at the Barber
shop the buzzing flies leave the Clown robot and enter V5.
Holmes "Oh, it was the
insects, they are the intelligence."
Nu-Byte (through V5) "We like
you. We are Nu-Byte. This is our home."
Holmes "Amazing. A
swarm intelligence. Evolved mechanical flies."
Nu-Byte "We like the
clowns. We want speak. We want to play."
Holmes "Then play and
speak you shall."
10. As the Nu-Byte and
Holmes talk a sinister turn occurs. The Chief Clown appears
from his hiding spot.
Xara "Oh yeah, I forgot
he was hiding. He followed me here earlier."
The Chief Clown is holding a
laser gun and a robot control device.
Chief Clown "Discovery of a
new species could make me rich. But controlling these
creatures to control technology, THAT will make me powerful."
Holmes "Sorry, who are
you?"
Chief Clown "Just call
me The Clown."
Holmes "No."
Chief Clown "What?"
Holmes "I'm not having a
nemesis called The Clown. Who do you think I am?
Batman?!"
Chief Clown "Call me
what you wish, but for my plan to succeed, you all must die!"
Episode THREE
11. Holmes "Well, if this if
the end I guess you must have this..." he says taking off his scarf.
In a moment of confusion Holmes uses the scarf to whip the gun from
The Chief Clowns hand.
Holmes "Run!"
Holmes, Xara and Mo Bollit flee for their lives out into the street,
pursued by Robot Clowns!
12. Holmes leads the party back to the Psychic Circus where they are
met by the ringmaster.
Ringmaster "What is going on?"
Holmes "No time. Where is the Chief Clowns workshop?"
The Ringmaster leads them to the Chief Clowns Workshop. 'Spend a
Story Point' And Holmes finds what he was looking for, the
blueprints to the Chief Clowns Robot control device.
Holmes "I need about 10 minutes."
Xara "Leave that to us."
13. Xara, Mo Bollit and the ringmaster return to the Big Top where
they are met with the Chief Clown and several Robot Clowns.
The Clowns attack!
Xara and Mo Bollit try to give the Robot Clowns the run around, but
are caught and held tight.
V5 enter the Big Top, and there is an evil gleam in the Chief Clowns
eyes. "Kill Them!"
14. Holmes enters the Big Top. "Oh, I think not."
The Chief Clown presses down on the his robot controls... (Clown
roll 15 vs. Holmes 21!)
Holmes "A simple counter-measure."
The Chief Clown tries to grab his gun, but V5 grabs and holds him
tight.
Holmes presses a further button and The Chief Clowns control box
sparks and explodes.
Holmes "That wasn't your work. And I've erased the blueprints. I
very mush doubt you'll be able to create another."
15. The authorities arrive and The Chief Clown is taken away.
Ringmaster "Why thank you, but now who will control the Clowns?"
Holmes "Oh, I think your new biggest fans can help there."
With that the Nu-Bytes swarm into the Robot Clowns.
V5 (Nu-Bytes) "Thank you Holmes." With that the swam leave V5.
Holmes hands the Ringmaster a small computer disc. This has
instructions on building voice-boxes for the Robots so you can
communicate with the Nu-Bytes. You will find them eager to
entertain."
Mo Bollit "Well, be seeing you both. Cracking good time."
Holmes, Xara and V5 make their return to the TARDIS.
