Xmas Special. KRAMPUS

Captain’s log… it’s Christmas.

Jaxa is putting up Christmas decorations in Berik’s Bar. Berik is far from happy.

  “Why are you doing this?"

"You are not Hu-Mon.”

“It’s a celebration. Birth of a human deity or something.”

“I know. Gift giving. Pah! It’s not right. No profit?

“But when they celebrate, humans spend more.”

“Let me give you a hand.”

Engineering. Lt. Qaan’s computer terminal blinks off, for the third time in a week. Qaan curses, thumps the computer then storms out of engineering.

Bridge. Ensign T’Pok detects an energy source, “it’s heading directly at us.”
The Captain orders shields up. On contact the energy source disappears; apparently destroyed on contact with the shields.

Crewman Drayk and Lt. Johansson are arguing, as usual; they have a toxic relationship. Johansson walks away. As Drayk returns to his duties something appears, something tall and grotesque. He screams!

Security find Drayk comatose, he is rushed to the sick bay. Doctor Ogawa finds his life signs are minimal, is able to stabilise him.

Lt. Vec helps with the decorations.

Bridge. Another a similar energy source is detected further away. The Captain orders they near is slowly.

Lt. Qaan is in Berik’s. She is obviously fed up, complaining about the Captain taking the ship into the Nebula last week blaming that for causing the increased malfunctions across the ship. She knocks back a drink and slams a glass on the bar. Suddenly a DEMON appears in the bar! Berik calls for Security.

Qaan takes a swing at the creature, but it grabs her, draining her of her energy just like Drayk was found. The Demon disappears as Security arrives.

T’Pok and Ogawa work together to analyse the energy readings. They confirm the source they detected that hit the ship matches that of the Demon. “It’s odd,” says Doctor Ogawa, “but this demon. It’s Christmas, it resembles the Krampus, and old Christmas fairytale.”

“Ho ho ho.”

Captain, “Err… Santa?”

“I am the goodness of the dreams of yourself and your crew. My kind have a light and a dark. I am the Light… I exist on the good energy created by all beings.”

“And the other?”

“It feeds on the dark thoughts and energy. I can fight it, but…”

But Santa Claus is cut off as the Krampus appears on the Bridge.

“This ship is mine.
They are all my children, and I will feed!”

Santa Claus and Krampus are suddenly locked in an exchange of energy, and Krampus is winning.

 

“How do we help?” asks the Captain.

“We wish you a Merry Christmas…” starts Lt. Poppius.

“We wish you a Merry Christmas…” continues the Captain, and opens ship wide communications.

“We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. “

The crew start to join in the singing.
“Good tidings we bring to you and your kin;
Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

The Krampus starts to grow weak and disappears.
In Med Bay Lt. Qaan and crewman Drayk start to recover.
Santa Claus thanks the crew for their help and wishes all a Merry Christmas.

Sadly this is a fiction.  Due to work commitments we had to cancel our planned Christmas game, meaning I didn't actually get chance to run this adventure.  But I felt it was too good a short encounter not to include here.  Happy Christmas.
