Long before the rise of the Empire, Beyond
the Blood Drift, an elite group of mercenaries were well a match for even the
feared Mandalorians. Only a few people knew of their existence, so is shrouded
their history. Hired by rich corporations or governments, their fees were high.
With the rise of the Empire the Emperor has used the Den-Gar on numerous
occasions. That was until the Emperor fell out of favour with the Den-Gar High
General, King Dargrim Lexgar. Since that day the Den-Gar have fallen further
still into legend.
There is no honour, there
is a contract.
There is no death, there is
failure.
There is no emotion, there
is blood.
And with blood we are the
Den-Gar.

Appearance
The Den-Gar are mercenaries and as such
have no universal uniform or emblem (why have a logo for a secret organisation).
Most Den-Gar will wear combats, or dress in black. Den-Gar will usually have
plenty of ammo carried in bandoliers strapped around their body.
Training
Den-Gar are proficient in many forms of
combat, especially in weapons such as blasters. One surprising aspect of Den-Gar
training and skills is the lack of any form of martial arts. Such forms of
combat require a discipline of peace, whereas the Den-Gar draw strength from
their aggression.
Although weapon training is standard each
Den-Gar is permitted to specialise as they see fit. Heavy Weapon specialists are
common, as are swordsmen, especially as the Den-Gar originate from Gar.
Apart from weapon training Den-Gar may
also specialise in other non-combat skills, although such skills are not
esential. There is an adequate library on Latverian Moon, and usual
specialisations include vehicle operation, communications, medical training and
procurement. The Den-Gar are a mercenary unit, not a military unit. As such
units are not necessarily balanced, but more weighed towards combat proficiency.
Units
Den-Gar only have three military groups, a
Unit, a Section and a Legion. It is very rare that a Legion will ever be
deployed.
A Standard Den-Gar Unit is six men. This
will usually include a pilot,a tech and a Commander (5D-6D)
A Standard Den-Gar Section is four Units.
There will be a Major (7D) in charge of the Section.
A Legion is any group large than a
Section. A Colonel (9D) will be in charge of a Legion.
The next highest rank is that of General
(11D) and then that of High General.
The High General is the single individual
in command of the Den-Gar. There is a line of succession that the title is
passed down in. At present the position of High General is held by King Dargrim
Lexgar. Should Kingdom of Lexgar lose succession the Den-Gar command would fall
to the highest member of the Kingdom of Bloodaxe. This line of succession
is very comples and interwoved into family histories, takinginto account old
promises, and strength of Kingdoms.
Psi
99% of Den-Gar are not force-sensitive.
There does come a time however where a contract will put the Den-Gar against a
force using opposition. In order to combat such an opponent there are a few Psi
(force-using) Den-Gar. Often they will be Jedi trained, and will accompany a
Unit. A Psi is never assigned to a single unit, section or legion. A Psi
traditionally wears a black combat suit similar to that of the Jedi. Due
to the mercenary nature of the Den-Gar many of the Psi Den-Gar have fallen to
the Dark side in the past. The current generation of Den-Gar have no Psi,
due to Emperor Palpatine's intervention, although the rebel operative Varth
Dagar is an ex-Den-Gar Psi.
Lifestyle
Den-Gar live a military life. They very
rarely have time off-duty, so usually have plenty of money by the time they are
released from service. They awake early each morning and go through thorough
exercise routines and combat training daily.
Omega-Gar
This is a harsh volcanic planet beyond the
blood drift. It’s surface is nearly breaking up and volcanic eruptions occur
daily. Due to the natural chaos combined with the effects of the Blood Drift
sensor readings are impossible, making this an excellent hide away for the
Den-Gar. Their fortress is built into the side of a volcano. Den-Gar techs had
created a venting system and a way to control the volcano, thus preventing an
eruption that could wipe out their base.
Latverian Moon
This is a small moon, one of twenty,
orbiting a large gas giant. Latverian Moon is the only satellite that sustains
an M class atmosphere. The majority of the moon is covered with lush forests
broken up by hundreds of winding rivers and streams.
There is a small human population on the
moon nearing industrial level technology, although the Latverian Monarch has
purposely held back his people for fear the Empire may strike, or so he says.
The Den-Gar have a small facility near one
of the coastlines, primarily used as a training ground. The Monarch is happy to
allow the Den-Gar residence on his moon. Although they offer no payment, they do
offer protection.
Equipment
Den-Gar tend to use standard Blasters,
grenades and comlinks. The use of heavier weapons and thermal detonators is also
quite frequent if available. The Den-Gar currently have a weapons supply
contract with Ekkar Arms of the Elrood Sector.
