Galactic Moon Festival

An Adventure for Star wars Role-playing Game

This is a One-Shot Halloween adventure based on the Galactic Moon Festival introduced in Star Wars Galaxies MMO.

In an effort to gain more support from the planets Naboo and Tatooine, Jabba the Hutt throws an annual Galactic Moon Festival so everyone can celebrate the horrifyingly awesome haunts of the season. Jabba has grown tired of all the love festivals, celebrations of life, and other saccharine events.

In order to participate in what is sure to be the "ghoulest" happening this year, all citizens have to do is visit Z'ozpheratu outside of the Mos Eisley starport.

ACT I - A Wretched Hive of joy and Horror

The PCs have arrived in Mos Eisley on Tatooine to collect a cargo of Energy cells, for the Rebellion or simply re-sale, that's up to your PCs, the cargo is already paid for. Their contact is the Ithorioan Momaw Nadon in the Mos Eisley Cantina. By the time the PCs arrive it is already first dusk, with Tattoo II about to set.

The Mos Eisley Cantina is not so much a wretched hive today, customers are in fancy dress and the streets of Mos Eisley and the Cantina itself are decorated with candles, jack-o-lanterns and spider webs. Momaw Nadon is sat in a booth and recognises the PCs as they enter.

GM Notes: You can include some banter here, children dressed as Jawas or skeletons trick-or treating, not the usual bar brawl. Spirits are high and one of the Tonnika Sisters even gives a PCs a kiss on the cheek as a treat x

For stats on Momaw Nadon and Tatooine characters see: Galaxy Guide 1: A New Hope.

As the PCs leave the cantina Z'ozpheratu, a gaunt pale twi'lek in dark robes, steps from the shadows, "Wishing you a wonderful Galactic Moon Festival," he grins, "Here, have a free costume." Before anyone can react he reaches out and touches the nearest character, instantly Transforming them into the creature of their costume. Oh... it's not a costume, they have been transformed!

Transmogrification
Characters that have been transformed have the following stats, only keeping their Knowledge skills. This also means they cannot talk, unless transformed into a Jawa and someone else understands/speaks Jawa.

GM Note: Transmogrification is not new to the star Wars Universe. Charal, the witch that lives on the Forest Moon of Endor has the Talisman of the Raven allowing her to transform into a raven at will. Plus this is just a fun Halloween adventure, have fun with it.

ACT II - The Screams of Mos Eisley

Shrieks and screams start filling the streets, people are running, and there seem to be a lot more Jawas, Kowakian monkey lizards and skeletons running amok!
The PCs will obviously looking to see what has gone on and find who is the cause of the chaos now erupting on Mos Eisley streets.

Z'ozpheratu
The twi'lek who Jabba the Hutt tasked with handing out the Galactic Moon Festival costumes has fallen to the Dark Side, though more a dark mischievous nature rather than wanting to cause any real harm. Z'ozpheratu has come into possession of The Amulet of Transmogrification, stolen from the Witches of Dathomir.

GM Note: Do have the PCs possibly spy at distance Z'ozpheratu seeing him transform more people before disappearing into the shadows, but don't let them tackle him quite yet. Though if he gets the chance he will transform another PC, needing only to touch them with a Brawl attack. Treat Z'ozpheratu with mystery and have him just disappear into the shadows without trace.

During their investigations the PCs do get attacked by several of the transformed, might remind the PCs that these are just regular people, many of them children. But don't worry, anyone harmed or even killed in transformed state will revert and be fully healed once the spell is reversed.

A Very Easy Streetwise tells the PCs that Jabba the Hutt organised the Galactic Moon Festival. An Easy Streetwise reveals that Z'ozpheratu was seen at Jabba the Hutts townhouse shortly before the events of this evening.

An Easy Search finds Jabba the Hutts Mos Eisley townhouse just down the street from the Cantina. The townhouse is guarded by two Gamorrean Guards, or at least it should be, they have both been transformed into Kowakian monkey lizard and are fighting in the sand outside the door. It takes a Moderate Security to open the door. Failing that they could try climbing through one of the high windows, Easy Climbing, a character inside can open the door.

Lucky for the PCs Jabba the Hutt is not in residence, but his ally Ephant Mon is. The normally cold and callous ally of Jabba is looking rather nervous and holding a vibroblade. "Stay Back!" he says as the PCs enter the room.

A Moderate Bargain, or easy if the PCs have weapons drawn, causes him to stand down. Ephant Mon explains that he had no idea what Z'ozpheratu was planning. Ephant Mon was the one who facilitated the theft of the Amulet of Transmogrification from the Witches of Dathomir. He know little more.

As the PCs question Ephant Mon, suddenly behind them appear three Dathomir witches. They look very cross. Ephant Mon pleads with the PCs, "Don't let them hurt me!"
The Witches demand the return of the Amulet of Transmogrification. If it is not returned no one will be safe from their wrath!
Hopefully the PCs will volunteer to help. If they do so the Witches perform a Ward of Protection on one of the PCs, making that one PC immune to the effects of the Amulet of Transmogrification. All they need to do to take the Amulet from Z'ozpheratu to end his mischief.

For stats of Ephant Mon see: Galaxy Guide 5: Return of the Jedi

ACT III - Heroes of the Galactic Moon Festival

The PCs now need to find Z'ozpheratu.
Have the PCs roll Streetwise and Search to find him. Have a few near misses where he disappears just as they spot him.
Eventually the trail leads back to Mos Eisley Cantina. The Cantina is full of the Transformed. Z'ozpheratu sits on a throne of Krayt Dragon bones.

The PCs need to fight through the horde of Transformed to get to Z'ozpheratu, this time he does not flee.
To grab the Amulet from around Z'ozpheratu's neck the PCs need to make a successful Brawl against him, though he will Brawl Parry and try to Brawl back, if he hits the hit character is Transformed, unless it the protected one.

Once a PC grabs the Amulet the Horde stops fighting. The Dathomir Witches appears and take back the Amulet, the transformed being restored and healed. There are many relieved people and parents. The PCs are celebrated as the Heroes of the Galactic Moon Festival, and will appear on merchandise in future events.

As for Z'ozpheratu, in the confusion he disappeared... until next year...
