A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ...

Black Ice
In the bitter struggle against the Empire
not all battles are fought with blasters.
Sometimes it is more useful to know
what your enemy is up to than to destroy it.
Sometimes knowing too much is a
bad thing... as the Warriors of Gar
are about to discover...

 Player-characters Jan Vincent Torm
NB. some details of the adventure have been changed to apply more towards the group.

				Episode One - Mission:

Torm and Terri and used false ID to sneak
themselves into the Imperial Bureau along with Junior and Jo'din
dressed as maintenance crew.  Junior has QT-7, the super
computer to help hack the Imperial codes.

Some good Con rolls from Torm and Terri get
them into the base where QT and access the code.

QT-7  "We appear to have a
problem.  The information is encrypted and the key code
cannot be accessed from this level."

Junior  "Where is the key code
				located."
QT-7 "Only in the office of Dr. Benkin, senior scientist."
The Warriors make their way but the door to
that level is locked.  With some assistance from QT-7
Junior unlocks the door to the higher levels.  They group
are immediately stopped by Security, but Torm bluff his way
past, only for them to be stopped by an over-enthusiastic tech
who sees the QT droid.  Unfortunately he isn't listening to
Torm but Junior manages a moderate Con to let them pass by.

Dr. Benkin is in his office.  Terri
spays a squirt of Haliat perfume, known to have pheromone
effects, to lure Benkin out of his office... FUMBLE.  Oops,
he is not swayed by Terri's sexual advances, instead calls for
security!  Terri grabs the scientist and kisses him, her Kedran lip smear placing in a momentary daze.

Junior rushes in and slices the computers key
codes and the Warriors flee before Security arrives... well that
was the plan.  Four security guards arrive.  Torm and
Terri blast them on Stun, on gets a shot at Jo'din but she
dodges.  With the guards unconscious the Warriors flee the
base.  They head to the vehicle bay, but all that is
readily available are Speeder bikes.  Torm with Junior take
one, with Terri jumping on the back with Jo'din.  Again,
Junior needs the help of QT-7, but is able to open the bay doors
as the Warriors of Gar speed out, pursued by two Biker scouts!

For several turns the Speeder Bikes open fire
with Torm and Jo'din evading.  Junior and Terri try to
return fire but miss, and Jo'din's bike is hit and lightly damaged.
Terri tries to leap at the nearest Scout... and FUMBLE misses,
but lands without hurting herself.  Torm is not so lucky,
his bike is hit and crashes, Torm Incapacitated but Junior lands
				safely.
			![]()
The two bikes pursue Jo'din.  Jo'din
tries to open the throttle but her bike is hit by a laser bolt,
destroying it, but she able to safely jump clear and activate Lightsaber Combat.  As the two bikes zoom past she slashes
them both with her blue bladed lightsaber causing both to crash
				and burn!

Jo'din heads back and heals Torm.  The
Warriors quickly get back to their ship, the Makeshift,
Jo'din's stolen Imperial Shuttle, currently on false ID, then
blast off to rendezvous with Major Laura Mers aboard the Rebel
				frigate Justice.

				Episode Two - The Plan
			 The
Warriors return to their base on the mist covered planet Fangol.
After passing through Alliance security Torm
and Terri meet with Major Laura Mers, their new Alliance contact.

				Torm  "So, not Snowy anymore?"

Major Mers "Snowy is a high ranking
Alliance commander, and far too busy.  I will be you new
				liaison."

The data the Warriors had retrieved is
analysed and it reveals Imperial shipping plans, including that
of a Bulk Fuel Cruiser called Black Ice.

A plan is devised to hit the shipment and
steal the Black Ice.  Alliance starfighters will keep
Imperial defences busy whilst two strike teams board the Black
Ice, one each boarding one of the command pods.  Torm will
lead Black Squad and board the rear pod.  An extra member is
to be added to Torm's team.  In walks Bail Ohmar.

				Terri  "What, we get a
				handicap?"

Major Mers  "I see you've met.
Can I trust you to work together?"

Ohmar and Terri just glare at each other.

Episode Three - Cracking the Ice

The Alliance Assault Frigate Justice leads
the assault backed by a dozen starfighters.  The Warriors
are aboard a Spiral Class-Assault craft, designed as a single
use vessel to burst through a capital ships hull for boarding.
Wookoid remains behind aboard the SixtyNine as usual.
			![]()
The Battle goes well and the Imperial
defences are caught off guard by the Rebel assault.

Torm gets the signal.  The plan is to
land just below the Bridge, his piloting is good, just one level
down, the ship pierces the Black Ice's hull.
			 The
hatch is blown and the Warriors quickly disembark and start to
move quickly toward the Bridge.  It doesn't take long for
the Warriors to meet some opposition in the form of the ships
				security.
				Torm  "These are civilian
				security, stun only."

The Warriors encounter the 10 security
guards.  A fire-fight ensures causing Torm and Terri to be
wounded, and even Bail Ohmar got hit, though he was protected by
his Mandalorian Armour.  Eventually all the guards we
				stunned.

Bail Ohmar "I thought you were
				meant to be good?"
Terri "We're not walking around in armour like a paranoid nerf herder."
				Bail Ohmar (nodding towards Jo'din)
"And what is she here for?"

				Torm  "Jo'din?  She's
				backup."

				Jo'din (smiling inanely) "I'm
backup."  Terri laughs.  Ohmar is confused, having
never actually seen Jo'din in combat.

				Jo'din heals their wounds.  Moving
through the ship the security doors prove little problem for
				Junior.

The Warriors make their way through the
habitation deck and find their path blocked with a barricade.

Torm  "Listen guys, we have no
intention of hurting any of you.  We only want the ship."

crewman "Yeah, well this is our
				livelihood."

Torm  "Sure, but I'm here with
people that have had it worse than you."

				crewman "we'll lose our homes."

				Terri  "Never had a home.
Just the floor of a cargo freighter.  If I was lucky I
				might have a blanket."

				crewman  "not our problem."

				Torm  "yeah, well the
Mandalorian Commando is.  Help us and we will help you."

Torm rolls a 21 on Bargain and the crewmen
stand down.  Torm glares at Bail Ohmar, who reluctantly
				holsters his blasters.

Jo'din and Terri stay with the crew while
Torm, Bail Ohmar and Junior head to the Bridge.

The Bridge crew surrender and Torm opens the
				comms.

				Untos Poquot (White Team Leader)
"Black Team, are you there, what is keeping you?"

				Torm "Hold your Bantha's cowboy,
				all under control."

				Untos Poquot "Bridge controls our
end were damaged in a firefight, you'll need to take control.
Have you ever piloted a bulk Freighter?"

Torm  "My father ran a mining
				operation, piece of cake."

Torm succeeds on a Difficult Piloting check,
but the ship needs two pilots, and Bail Ohmar fails.
			![]()
				Bail Ohmar  "Yeah, well I've
never piloted a ship this big before."  Fortunately he
gets to grips and passes the Difficult Piloting test.

				Junior enters the pre-set hyperspace
co-ordinates and the Black Ice disappears into Hyperspace.

				Episode Four - Chief
				Engineer Skolos
Alarms sound on the Bridge warning of hyperspace collision. Junior checks and identifies it is just a sensor error, there is no collision, but is unable to clear the fault. Junior, escorted by Bail Ohmar goes to repair the fault. Two hovercam droids approach, but Bail simply blasts them. Junior is then easily able to repair the sensor, though it appears it was deliberately sabotaged. Jo'din and Terri, guarding the crew, also see two hovercam droids appear. Terri fails to shoot them and as they near they explode wounded both of the Warriors. Terri spies a couple of the crew looking like taking advantage of the situation... ![]() Terri "I wouldn't." They don't. Jo'din is able to heal them both. Back on the Bridge a Mynock Hunter Droid bursts in armed with a blaster and starts shooting. Torm manages to dodge and return fire, destroying the droid. Terri (on the comm) "We just had a couple of a exploding droids down here." Torm "Yeah, well a Mynock Hunting droid just tried to kill me." Terri "Well at least that is working as intended." Torm "Funny." Bail and Junior return to the Bridge as the crew are feeling groggy.
Junior identifies the fault in the life
support and is able to correct it.
Bail Ohmar "Okay, there is someone else." Skolos
(over ships comms) "Okay you pirates, what are you waiting
for, I'm in Maintenance, and more than ready for you."Torm "Ohmar, go. Take Junior in case you need Tech Support." Torm (over comm) "Jo'din, meet Bail in Maintenance, we have a problem." At Maintenance Jo'din meet up with Bail Ohmar and Junior. Bail Ohmar "What are you here for?" Jo'din "Backup." she smirks. As the Warriors enter the Maintenance area a large Gantry Crane tries to grab they, but they easily doge it. As they approach the Plasma Forge they feel the extreme heat, it's doors are partly open. Jo'din is able to absorb the heat through The FORCE, and Bail is protected by his Mandalorian Armour. Junior has to put up with it. Junior gets to the controls but is unable to stop Skolos opening the door more and falls unconscious from the heat. Jo'din pulls him clear and heals him. Bail is starting to get annoyed. Bail, carrying Junior uses his Jet Pack to fly up to the Vehicle Repair level. Skolos tried to operate the laser lathe, but Ohmar easily blasts it. On the Vehicle repair deck a re-programmed P2-D19 droid, armed with a laser welder, lurches towards the Warriors. Junior stays back, but Skolos throws a grenade Mortally Wounding Jo'din. Bail, now annoyed... Blasts the attacking droid. It manages to land a hit on Ohmar, but he is protected by his Mandalorian Armour. Another couple of blasts and the droid is destroyed. Two more hovercam droids explode near him, but again his armour protects him. Ohmar sees that Skolos is in an observation room higher up. The Mandalorian fires his jet pack, rocketing up and crashing through the window. ![]()
Bail Ohmar "A bit of advice, don't
start a fight you can't win."  Bail blasts a shocked
				Skolos, stunning him.
On the floor below Jo'din has managed to heal herself with The FORCE. Bail Ohmar "What happened to backup?" Jo'din "I wasn't expecting the grenade." Bail Ohmar (over comm) "Situation under control, threat contained. And your backup leaves much to be desired." Jo'din sticks her tongue out the Mandalorian. In the crew quarters Terri sees the crew getting itchy. Crewman "We could take you. All of us." Terri glances around the room, "No. You couldn't." Crewman "what if we tried, you'd kill us?" Terri tosses the crewman he blaster rifle. "It's set to stun, I only flipped it to kill for that droid." Crewman "I've got your blaster now." Terri smiles and stands "Then use it." The Crewman pauses "I wouldn't stand a chance would I?" Terri "No. But I'm still not your enemy. The Empire is the one keeping you on minimal wage with high taxes." Crewman "What do you know?" Terri "I know your world likely has so many visa restrictions you can't even leave your city. You can't afford to go offworld and the Holonet is restricted you only get Imperial News." Crewman "It was no better in the Old Republic." Terri "Ask Junior, he lived through the Clone Wars. But all I know is that I can't live free under the Empire, and I'm just trying to make a difference. But I'm no different to you, really, I'm just want to be left a lone and free. I'll take that blaster back now."
				Episode Five - The Blitz

The Warriors are called into Alliance
Command.  Major Mers breaks the news that Black Ice was
tracked and the location of the base has been compromised, but
it will take days to evacuate.  She asks for volunteers to
man the starfighters to defend the base.  Torm volunteers
but Bail Ohmar, despite being a fair pilot refuses to strap
				himself into an X-Wing.
			 Torm
"You're one of the best pilots we have.  The Alliance
needs you."Bail Ohmar "Fine, but I do this my way, and not in an X-Wing."
Imperial recon fighters approach the base,
two TIE's and two Interceptors.  Bail Ohmar joins four
X-Wings, one piloted by Torm, in his own ship, the Bounty Hunter, a modified Firespray.

Torm and the X-Wings deal with the TIE's.

Bail is outmanoeuvred by the first
Interceptor, but he has rear firing cannons.  His shields
protect him and he destroys the first Interceptor.  He
manages to destroy the second interceptor but his forward guns
jam.   Fortunately that is the end of the first wave
as they head back to base.

				Bail Ohmar  "They were just
recon.  Next time we could be dealing with dozens."

				Major
Mers agrees and asks Bail to join with the squads patrolling the
base.  The Warriors are assigned the South sector.
The Imperial attacks begin, but the Rebel
base is deep under ground.  Jo'din senses a disruption in
the Force and runs off, Terri follows.  They charge into a
restricted power section ignoring the Rebel Guards who give
pursuit.  Suddenly a wall explodes and four Heavily
Armoured Assault Stormtroopers crash through the wall.
The Rebel guards duck for cover, but Jo'din
ignites her lightsaber and in a flash of her blue blade cuts
				down all for intruders!

				Rebel Guard  "Err.. you're not
				supposed be in this section."

				Terri  "Well maybe you should
tell the Imperials that.  We just saved your skins."

				Jo'din  "We?"
As the days go on the Rebels continue to load ships for evacuation, when Imperial landing craft are detected. The Warriors head to the South corridors, but they are a maze throughout the carved rock of the planet.
The Warriors decide to take the fight to the
Imperials and intercept the Stormtroopers as they land, finding
				themselves against 15 Stormtroopers.

While the Warriors are aggressive Torm and
Terri are Incapacitated in the first exchange of fire and Bail
Ohmar is Wounded.  Jo'din takes her cue and ignites her
lightsaber and enters combat.  Even Junior opens fire,
shaking his head at the poor attempt of a shot on him by a Stormtrooper.  In a couple more rounds the Stormtroopers
are defeated.  Jo'din helps Terri and Torm and they fall
back.  Bail Ohmar launches several grenades to cave in the
				passageways.

				Bail Ohmar  "So that's why
				you're backup, you're a Jedi."

				Jo'din "I'm not actually a Jedi."
Torm "Yeah, you have to admit, she's a good backup to have."
				Bail Ohmar  "And if the
Wookiee is so good why do you have him stay in the ship?"

Torm  "He's our get away, so
it makes sense to have someone who can defend the ship."

Bail Ohmar  "Do you have an
				answer for everything?"

Torm  "Let's say I like to
keep the deck stacked in my favour."
			Episode Six - No Surrender
The Rebel Base commander continues to plan
his actions defending the base while ships can be loaded when
				some distressing news comes in...

X-Wing Blue Leader "Sir, we're out
numbered by the TIEs, but a Torpedo Sphere just dropped out of
				hyperspace."

Base Commander call  a meeting of
seniors officers, including Black Squadron, aka the Warriors of
Gar.  He relays the news advising it could be just an hour
before the Sphere and position to start an orbital bombardment.
			 Torm
"Could we send a strike team aboard to sabotage it."
				Commander "You wouldn't have enough
time to even sprint to their bridge.  Surrender seems our
				only option."

				Bail Ohmar  "That's suicide."

				Commander  "We have no options.
We don't have the firepower to take out that Sphere and it will
destroy our ships if we try to flee."

There is a pause when Major Mers
offers a suggestion "What about Black Ice?"

				Commander  "What about it?"

Terri  "Oh, I know where this is
				going."

Major Mers  "We crash it into the
sphere, and in the confusion evacuate the base."

				Bail Ohmar  "That sounds like
				another suicide option."

Major Mers  "We have no other
				option.  Volunteers?"

				Pause...

Torm  "Well I have nothing in my
				schedule.  We'll do it."

				Bail Ohmar  "Count me out."

				Torm  "You've already been
aboard, and you know the pilot controls.  And you may be a
hot gunslinger, but that won't help you when the Empire rains
				downs hellfire with Concussion Missiles."

				Bail Ohmar  "Fine."

Major Mers  "You'll need to sneak
aboard so the Empire doesn't realise what we are up to, fire the
engines at the last possible moment."

Bail Ohmar  "No problem, my ship
				has stealth tech."

				Terri  "Of course it does."

The Warriors, except Wookoid, are accompanied
by Major Mers board the Bounty Hunter and Bail Omhar
manages to approach the Black Ice undetected, the nearest
airlock to the Bridge being the deck below.

At the Bridge of Black Ice the Warrors take
				their stations;

				Captain's Station: Torm
Pilot's Station: Bail Ohmar Astrogation: - Computer: Terri Shields: Jo'din Engineering: Major Mers Sensors Communications: Junior The First Test - Sensors are brought online to track course of Torpedo Sphere (Technical, Junior - Success) At the Engineers station Major Mers plots an intercept course (Mechanical, Mers - Success) At the Piloting station Bail Ohmar plans the intercept (Success) Torm "Okay, this is it Major, bring the Engines online." (Success on second attempt) The colossal freighter starts to rumble and comes to life, and it doesn't take the Empire long to notice. A wave of TIE fighters starts pounding the ship with laser fire. Bail Ohmar chooses to intercept before the Torpedo Sphere gets into position. Jo'din activates the shields as TIE fighters attack, but one gets through damaging the engines. Jo'din uses the Force to Enhance Attributes. She manages to block the attack on the Fuel Pods, but another hit gets through on the engines. Torm
				 "Jo'din, we need those shields."
				Jo'din  "I'm trying."
The Empire then tries a different tactic and a TIE Fighter crashes into the side of the Black Ice. No critical damage that time but two more are approaching, one on the Fuel Pods and one on the Bridge.
				Jo'din  "The shields are not
				strong enough to protect both!"

				Torm  "Protect the fuel pods."

				Bail Ohmar  "What about us?!"

Torm  "How do you fancy a hand
				of sabacc?"

				Bail Ohmar  "What?"

				TIE in collision course!
Jo'din Trusts the Force and manages to raise shields on the TIE colliding with the Pod. The TIE is about to crash into the Black Ice bridge when it explodes! Major Mers "I thought we were dead!" Torm "I always stack the deck. And THAT, mister Ohmar, is why Wookoid stays on the ship." Wookoid aboard the SixtyNine Trusted the Force and blasted the attacking TIE figher. Even with the Sensors offline and damage to the Engines Bail Ohmar pilots the Black Ice onto a collision course, locking the controls. Torm "Let's get the hell out of here before she blows!" Everyone runs for the airlock. Droids are running amok as TIEs continue to blast the Black Ice in an effort to stop it, the ship is rocked with explosions. Terri, carrying Junior, stumbles (Fumble). She pushes on and a blast catches her (another Fumble). Terri can see Jo'din at the Airlock (Terri spends a Force Point... but a 3rd Fumble!) as another explosion causes part of the superstructure to collapse, pinning Terri by her cybernetic right arm, but she is able to push Junior into the airlock.
				Terri "Leave me!"

				Jo'din "Not a chance."
The twi'lek jumps from the airlock and ignites her lighsaber!

Aboard the Bounty Hunter, Bail Ohmar at
the ships controls "We are about to die, if anyone is
				interested?"

Jo'din has but one way to free Terri, and
slices through her arm! (with a Stamina roll of 22 Terri merely
winces) Then Jo'din pulls them both into the Ship as Bail
ignites the engines and rear deflector shields.  The Black
Ice crashes into the Torpedo Sphere and both explode in the
mightiest of explosions.  The explosion rocks the Bounty
Hunter but Bail Ohmar has his ship under control.  Wookoid
pulls alongside and they joins the battle as the Rebel
				Transports make their escape.

Jo'din helps Teri into a bunk.  Torm
goes to see how she is.  Terri and Torm look at each other,
Terri's face is grim, Torm just nods.

Terri (looks up at Jo'din) "You cut
				my arm off."

				Jo'din  "I love you too."

				Terri  "I know."
