Episode One - Asteroid City

Lost in another galaxy, the Warriors of Gar pilot their battered Flying Saucer towards an asteroid city.

Jo'din "We need a name for the ship."
Terri "Is that really important right now?"
Jo'din "How about, Princess of Gar?"
Terri "I will hurt you."
Jo'din "Why are you so mean?" (sticking her tongue out at the Garbarian Warrior)
Torm "Junior is the only one of us without a ship, he should name it."
Junior "Great the ship we'll likely leave behind is mine. Thanks for that."
Jo'din "Well?"
Junior (sigh) *Okay, the Uggernaut."
Jo'din "what's an Uggernaut?"
Junior "It's actually a small walker combat vehicle. But I've always liked the name."

The Flying Saucer is taken into the asteroid city on automation. A multitude of alien starships surround the Space City.

Terri "I don't recognise any of these ships."
Junior "We're a long way from home. Funny that."
Terri cuts her eyes at Junior.

Aboard the Asteroid city a tall, lanky alien hunches over to address the party.

Alien "[TOCK TOCK TIK CHOCK TIKKA]"
Torm "Ah, language."
Torm trues gesturing some symbols. Junior runs inside the Flying Saucer.
Junior "Computer. We need translators."
A bleep follows with a hatch opening. Inside are several click on discs. Junior runs back outside and hands them to the party.
Torm "Shall we try again?, My name is Torm. We need to use your facilities."
Alien "500 Kreds for use of docking facilities."
Torm "Ah... we have no currency here."
Terri "I thought you were mister money?"
Torm "Oh I so am.  (to the alien) Thank you, can I pay later."
Alien "Pay at the booth.  The ship will be locked down until then."
Torm "Thank you, much appreciated."

None of the multitude of aliens can be recognised other than a few human looking.

Torm asks around and finds a dealer who will pawn his ship, a grisly looking alien.  Torm accepts 5000 Kreds for the flying Saucer and is given two days to buy it back at a cost of 6000 Kreds.  The alien laughs as Torm accepts the terms.

The Warriors find the equivalent of a Cantina, and casino, just what Torm was after.  He soon finds a couple of guys playing what is a very close approximation to Sabacc and joins the game.  500 Kreds is the bet.

GM note: despite being in a galaxy far, far away I used the ugavine.com Sabacc rules

Torm loses the first two hands, and loses the third to a Pure Sabacc hand from the lesser gambler, only to play Pure Sabacc himself.  A couple more hands and Torm is 2500 Kreds up before he thanks the guys for the game.

Terri "Seriously, you've made money already?"
Torm "Making money is easy.  I'll go get the ship back.  Junior go pay the docking fee and fix up the ship.  Everyone, try and find what you can about Hyper-Gates."

Torm returns to the ship pawn brokers.
Broker  "You're back quickly."
Torm hands over 6000 Kreds.
Broker "You said you had no Keds."
Torm  "As I just said to my friend, making money is easy.  That'll be the easiest 1000 Kreds you've made."
Broker "With that skill I could offer you a job."
Torm "Appreciate it, but I have to get home."

Torm (Streetwise - 27) learns that this galaxy was devastated in a war between two races called the Yuuzhan Vong and Abominors.  Most fled to the out systems like this with Core Worlds being left desolate.  He did learn of a world called Acrocorinth in the Core which supposedly had a Hype-Gate, but no knowledge on it being used.

Junior also learns of a planet of learning that has the galaxies largest library on a world called Pergamon.

Making their way back to the Flying Saucer the Warriors fail to notice they are being followed by an alien hunter seeking unusual specimens.

They take off and set course to Pergamon as it is the closest destination, but will still take fives days at Warp speed.

Episode Two - The Library

The Warriors ship lands at Pergamon, but they are not met.  The entire planet is a cityscape, a giant library, but was eerily desolate despite being clean, probably automated cleaners.

The Warriors begin to explore, eventually encountering giant alien.  It's whole head and body are cloaked, it reaches out with a long bony finger as it take a book from the shelves, completely ignoring the Warriors.

Torm  "Hey, we're new here.  I'm Torm."  No response, not even an acknowledgment.

Torm  "Who even are these guys?"

Tik Tik  "They are called the Knowledge."

The Warriors turn around and a small red skinned alien girl with purple hair is behind them.  "I'm Tik Tik."

Torm introduces everyone.  "Are you a... customer?"
Tik Tik  "I like reading.  it's great here.  Just make sure you are in the secure zone before nightfall."
Terri "Why?
Tik Tik  "Monsters.  I don't know much more, but I don't want to find out."

After chatting with Tik Tik the Warriors decide to split up.  Terri and Junior head off to search for information on religions, Terri believing that Ares or Aphrodite may have been here much like they have on Gar.  Torm and Jo'din just search for Hypergate references with the help of Tik Tik.

Terri and Junior take a repulsor-skiff to an area of the library focused on the religions of different species.

Terri  "Keep your eyes open for monsters."
Junior  "I don't think we should discount her warning."
Terri  "Oh look, another grim reaper."
Junior  "Does political correctness mean anything to you."
Terri  "Short stack, what the fuck do you think?!"

Terri and Junior spend time in this section.  Search - Junior rolls 10, Terri rolls 20.  Terri finds information on the gods of Gar.

Is it Ares or Aphrodite?  50% yes - No.
Athena?  Yes

Terri  "Not what I was looking for but we have a lead.  Several worlds that report having worshipped Athena.
Junior  "But you only know for sure that Ares and Aphrodite exist?  Well, it's... getting dark."

Torm and Jo'din, with Tik Tik, pass a couple more of The Knowledge, the giant 10' tall aliens continuing to ignore them.
Search - Jo'din rolls 9, Torm rolls 15.

Torm  "There is a world near the heart of the galaxy that reportedly has a Hypergate like structure in it's Capital City."
Jo'din  "Err... Torm..."

The two Knowledge suddenly disappear.

Tik Tik  "It's getting dark, we must go.  Now!"

Torm and Jo'din follow Tik Tik.

Junior looks around and sees the Knowledge disappear.  "Huh... short range teleport I presume."
Terri "Tele-what?"

Junior just rolls his eyes and looks around.  Perception (diff. 12) - Junior rolls 11, Terri rolls 12.

Terri  "I hear something."
Terri reactively draws her blaster.  Junior listens and now hears it too.
Junior "Sounds like tiny metal feet."

Suddenly a small spider-like droid scuttles into view.

Did Junior makes a Technology check, rolls 25.  "An Abominor-Skitter.  I didn't think those were real."
Terri  "Is it dangerous."
Junior  "Just the one, I doubt it.

Several dozen more Abominor-Skitters scuttle into view.

Junior  "Okay, with all things considered, I suggest we RUN!"

Terri and Junior sprint back to the Repulsor Skiff, the Abominor-Skitters giving chase!
Terri picks up Junior, slowing her, the Abominor-Skitters get close.  Terri throws a grenade!  The explosion gives the Warriors enough time to reach the skiff, Junior gunning the engines.

To their horror, the droid-like creatures can fly!

Abominor-Skitter

Att: 1D
Speed 3D
Brawl 2D+2 (damage 2D) - Swarm: unlimited combined skill and damage! +1 per Abominor-Skitter in attack and damage.

Terri "Go faster!"
Junior  "Could do without the back seat driver right now."

Repulsor Skiff
Maneuverability: 2D
Speed: 1D+1
Body Strength: 2D+2

Junior is able to outrun the Abominor-Skitters, but they are swarming all over the library.

Tik Tik manages to lead Torm and Jo'din into a secure area before they too encounter the droid critters.

Episode Three - Abhorrent of Light

Junior guns the engines of the Skiff and tries to get as high a possible in the hope the Abominor-Skitters cannot follow.

Can the Abominor-Skitters fly high?  50/50 - YES!

Junior "Keeping the engine on maximum to outrun them will drain the energy reserves.  We can't do this all night.  Take the controls and give me your rifle."

Junior disassembles the Blaster Rifle and his own ion gun.  He opens a panel on the skiff and removes an energy crystal and jury-rigs it to the rifle.

Terri  "What are you doing?"
Junior "Turning your blaster rifle into an ion deck-sweeper."
Terri "You can do that?"
Junior  "Well, I can, yes.  We're still limited by the ammo you have but will take out more of this things per shot."
Terri  "Now we just need somewhere to hold up."

Junior take over the controls again and heads back down into the library.  and finds an alcove to land the Skiff.  Terri leans over the front, Junior ready to gun the engines if absolutely necessary.

Eventually... they come!  Hundreds of the Abominor-Skitters!

The Ion Deck-Sweep works like a charm and Terri is able to blaster dozens upon dozens of the attacking creature.

Do they stop?  50/50  - NO!

Terri  "Ammo is getting low!"
Junior  "Then we leave.  We take off and come back in the morning."

junior guns the Skiffs engines and heads for the landing bay.  Terri and Junior rush into the Flying Saucer and Terri takes off, making a difficult dry-start Starship Piloting roll.

The following day Torm and Jo'din exit the safe room with Tik Tik.

Jo'din  "Torm, I can't sense Terri of Junior."

They head back to the ship to find it gone.

Torm  "Well that complicates things."
Tik Tik  "Wait, is that your ship?"

The Flying Saucer descends back onto the landing platform.  Terri an Junior exit.

Torm  "You gave us a fright."
Terri  "We we attacked by hundreds of droid things.  Leaving was the only way to get away."
Torm  "Just glad you came back."
Terri  "You should be glad I could find the way back."

The Warriors spend most of the day searching the library for clues to Hypergates and the Gree.  Eventually it is Junior that finds something (Search roll of 24).

Junior "Not exactly what we were after, but the world of Grymn.  Mention of a hypergate an a temple to Athena."
Terri  "You know, we can't just ask these so called gods for a lift home.  They're assholes who will want something in return."
Torm  "Well, we don't have much more to go on."

As they return to their ship a hulking alien is blocking their path.

Tik Tik "The Abhorrent of Light.  A feared fighter and collector."
Torm  "Collector of what?"
Abhorrent of Light (pointing at Jo'din) "I want her head."
Jo'din  "You collect heads?  Ugh... that's gross."
Abhorrent of Light  "Give me her and I will permit the rest of you to leave."

Jo'din put her hand on Torm's shoulder, then walks past to confront the Alien Hunter.

Jo'din  "They will not interfere..."
Terri  "Like hell we..."  Torm stops her.
Torm  "Go get him, backup."

To the surprise of Abhorrent of Light Jo'din ignites her Lightsaber.

Jo'din and the Abhorrent of Light duel, the Alien using vicious claws.

1. Jo'din wins the initial duel.
2. Abhorrent of Light fights back.
3. Jo'din presses an advantage.
4. Jo'din swings an cuts the Abhorrent of Light with her lightsaber, but only inflicts a wound.
5. Jo'din presses her Advantage again.
6. Abhorrent of Light manages to push back.
7. Jo'din swings he lightsaber with grace as she pushes once more with advantage.
8. Jo'din spins with speed and slices the Abhorrent of Light with her blade, killing him.

Tik Tik  "Wow!"
Jo'din  "No.  It wasn't a wow.  It was a necessity.  I only fight when they leave me no option."

The Warriors bid farewell to Tik Tik and take off in the Flying Saucer.

Episode Four - Warriors Grymn

Do the Warriors have a Space encounter, 1-2 (Yes), No.

Does the ship hold up, 1-3 (yes), Yes.

It takes a days travel to reach the planet.  Jo'din meditates, Junior conducts some maintenance on the ship the best he can.

Torm  "You did well surviving back there."
Terri  "All Junior.  Piloted the skiff and turned my blaster into an ion deck-sweeper?"
Torm  "Is that possible?"
Terri  "Well, he did it."
Torm  "All that, and lying for you too."
Terri  "What?"
Torm  "Oh come on.  The guy can convert a blaster rifle under pressure, do you think he would have misdialled the hypergate?"
Terri  "... did he..."
Torm "He said nothing.  He always has your back, he's like a big brother to you.  Why?"
Terri  "I wanted an out."
Torm  "I offer you an out several weeks back."
Terri  "It was still too close.  A days travel to Elrood and Gar at most. "
Torm  "You shouldn't have put this on Jo'din and Junior."
Terri  "I know.  And I'm sorry.   I will help you find a way back."
Torm  "And what about you?"
Terri  "..."

The desert world if Grymn is approached and Torms uses the sensors to detect a small settlement.  On approach Torm can see what appears to be the remains of several cities, now in ruins and claimed by the desert.  Torm lands the Flying Saucer on the outskirts.

Torm, Terri and Jo'din approach what appears to be a bar on the outskirts, a tattered canopy with the bar and tabled constructed from old shipping containers.  The world is hot, easily as hot at Tatooine at second noon.  The unkempt barman appears human, he has only three customers.  Two sat at a table, a third cloaked on his own with his boots up.

Torm  "Hey friend. We're just passing through.  We're new to these parts.  Could I buy some drink?   And we're after a bit on information on this area."
Barman "I'll take Kreds, unless you have anything else to trade."
Torm "I'm a galaxy from home, but we have a few Kreds.  What happened here?"
Kreel  "MY PEOPLE HAPPENED."
The cloaked figure stands, throwing back his hood.  He is roughly humanoid but his skin is scarred and covered in tattoos.
Kreel  "I am Kreel.  My people are the YUUZHAN-VONG!"
Kreel walks up close to Torm.
Kreel  "Do you now fear the Yuuzhan-Vong?"
Torm  "To be honest I only heard that name yesterday.  And I've fought crime lords, war lords and dark lords.  I just want to get home, and are far to hot and tired to for this macho... whatever it is.  If you want o fight, try her."
Terri  "Oh I'm too hot to fight.  My tits are sweating and..."
Torm  "No."
Terri  "What?"
Torm  "Whatever crude sexual comment you were going to make next, don't!"

Terri purses her lip and give a coy smile.  Kreel walks of to her.
Kreel  "Such a frail female."  Terri puts out he hand, the Yuuzhan-Vong Warrior takes it (strength test) and Terri wrestles him to the floor.  The nonchalantly sits back on her stool at the bar.  Kreel stands slightly taken aback.

Kreel  "I take that back.  You a are a warrior."

Torm  (to the barman) "Anyway, do you  know what a Hypergate is?"
Barman "Information is a commodity."
Torm  "Damn, you sound like Callahan, what do you want?  I only have these few Kreds.  We have a Tech with us."
Barman  "Really?  I have a cool box in back that isn't working."

Torm comms Junior to join them.
Junior walks towards the small bar when the patrons see him and all, including the barman reach for their blasters!

Torm  "Woah!  That's junior, our Tech."
Barman  "I never thought I would see one.  A NOSTECT!"
Junior  "Aw crap."
Torm  "Wait, what in the galaxies is a Nostect?"
Junior  "I'm not Nostect.  I'm an Ugnaught of the Nosferatau Clan."
Kreel  "Nosferatu.  Vampire!"
Junior (sigh) "Do I have to educate everyone?  No.  Well, my clan was once, millennia ago, but no any more.  And I am most certainly not a Nostect."
Torm  "What is a Nostect?!"
Terri  "You're a vampire?!"
Junior  "Did everyone's IQ just drop?  I am NOT a vampire, and I am NOT a Nostect."
Torm  "Will some one please tell me what the hell a Nostect is?"
Junior  "They are an alternate reality version of my clan bent on galactic domination.  They user their technology to create devastating weapons."
Torm  "So there are these Nostect here?"
Barman  "Well... no, no really.  Just legends really.  I don't think anyone alive has actually ever seen one.  But we were brought up on the stories... beware the Nostect."
Torm  "Fine, well we have now established he isn't one of those, Junior can you go take a look at the cool box in the back."

The Barman, with trepidation, leads Junior to the Cool box, a small refrigerator.  Junior fiddles with it for a moment. Tech (easy).
Junior "Okay."  Then goes to head back to the bar.
Barman  "So you can't fix it?"  The box starts to hum.  "Wait, you've fixed it already?"

Barman (to Torm)  "That was impressive.  Err.. I remember learning about an old religion, goddess Athena, and a race call Gree."
Torm  "Exactly what we were after."
Barman  "Not much, but there was supposed to be a temple to Athena in the old city.  That's all I have."
Kreel  "I know of this place.  I can take you there."

After some drinks and a rest Kreel leads the Warriors towards the ruined city.

The Warriors, led by Kreel, head out towards the ruined city, using the Flying Saucer to move closer rather than walking through heat.

The sand I still loose underfoot as they approach the ruined city when without warning several tentacles sprout form the ground grabbing Junior and Kreel tightly, a desert Dianoga, a third tries to grab Jo'din but instinctively she parries with her lightsaber. Jo'din initiates Lightsaber Combat and slices the tentacles freeing Junior an Kreel before the creature and drag them to it's maw.

Kreel looks at Jo'din in awe "I though Terri was the warrior?"
Torm "Yeah, we keep Jo'din here as our little surprise."

The City is indeed in ruins, it's stone walls crumbling, and eerily quiet.

After some searching a passageway leads to a partially collapsed underground chamber, the Temple of Athena. The Warriors search for an hour, but find no reference to a Hypergate, coordinates or even Athena.

Junior "I would conclude this is not a Temple of Athena, at least not a genuine one. Likely created many years later by some pseudo religious cult."
Torm "Then we're no further to an answer. We can only head further inwards and hope to find some civilisation."
Kreel "I would come too."
Torm "What about your people?"
Kreel (hesitantly) "I was expelled. I refused to kill innocents. I have survived alone for millennia."
Terri "Lots of millennia going around recently."
Junior "Do all Yuuzhan-Vong live this long?"
Kreel "No, they do no, but the shapers grafted me an eternal glad, I was bred to infiltrate societies over a long period of time. I do not know how long I will live."
Torm "Unless there are any objections, the more the merrier. Welcome to the Warriors of Gar."

Leaving the planet the Warriors detect three small attack craft who immediately open fire!

The Warriors take their stations;
Pilot: Terri 5D
Gunnery: Torm 5D
Shields Junior 4D

Flying Saucer
Speed 3D
Maneuverer 1D+2
Hull 4D
Shields 2D
Laser: Ctl 2D Dam 5D

Fighters
Flying Saucer
Speed 3D
Maneuverer 1D
Hull 4D
Shields 1D
Laser Ctl 1D Dam 3D
Crew: Pilot 4D, Gunnery 4D

The three attack fighters are outmatched by the superior Flying Saucer and Terri's piloting. Torm returns fire damaging two of the craft who then retreat. Junior activates the Warp Drive and the Warriors head deeper into thus unknown galaxy in search of a way home...
